2022 - Present

Researcher/Ecologist

  • Mapping out natural elephant carcass locations, and surrounding environmental conditions (field GPS & GIS tools)

  • Mapping out scavenger occupancy and activity influenced by the carcasses

  • Securing funding for the Project - Managing project funding (Budgeting) and book-keeping. Fieldwork technician - Camera trap monitoring and deployment - Project (MSc project on scavengers). Presentations and reporting. Community engagement, livelihood research - Data handling and management

2017-2018

Ecologist (Student Intern)

  • Camera trap monitoring and deployment − Planning and execution of game counts − Observation Reports; Game counts (drive counts, waterhole counts), Camera trap data. Editing and re-mapping/digitising reserve roads using QGIS.

  • Endangered species monitoring and reporting (spoor tracking and individual identification of Black rhinoceros)

  • Tourism Department − Driving tourists around Cheetah camps and around CCF reserve − Cheetah Walk and education

2020 - 2021

Data Engineer and Analytics

  • Updated databases to handle fluctuating unsystematic. Estimated Excel downtime by accurately implementing MySQL database.

  • Planned and implemented security measures to safeguard vital business data. Built models to estimate time of arrival and linking clients to in-transit.

  • Modelled a follow-up process for building a long-term Thumeza - client relationship
